What I’m Here To Do

Perhaps this is a good place to start explaining in more detail why I’m here and what I’m doing. To put things into context, I’m going to share my one year, five year, and ten year goals.

For the next year, I will be submitting the film I made last year, The Road To Will, to film festivals. The documentary is about my 10,500 mile motorcycle tour to discover the legacy of Will Rogers, America’s most popular celebrity a century ago, and how America gets to like one another again. The film also features my fourth one man show, Get The Bunk Out, based on Will Rogers’ political humor and 1928 presidential candidacy for the Anti Bunk Party, which I want to perform the show in conjunction with screenings of the film. Ideally, I’d like to put on a three hour production called the Will Rogers Wandering Soul Road Show, featuring a performance of The Cowboy Cabaret (my third one man show), a screening of The Road To Will, and a performance of Get The Bunk Out, but all performances are customizable.

This year, I will also be publishing my seventh book, A Group of Critters, a coloring book based on a poem I wrote about the various names for groups of animals. I have over twenty songs I’ve written that I’d like to produce so I will also be releasing a few new songs by Steve McAlphabet and the Wandering Soul Band. And I’ve been writing a bit of stand up comedy, and after doing it for the first time on my birthday last year, I’m gearing up to get out there and do it again.

In five years, I want to have grown the Wandering Soul Road Show to include other artists, technical engineers, marketing professionals, and community developers. Each stop in a city will be a few days to a week during which time, participating artists will perform at venues in which they can connect with their audience, inviting them to a day-long Wandering Soul Road Show festival, which would also include local performing artists and vendors. A streaming series can also be produced about the tour and the places that we visit, showcasing local community initiatives, original music, and must-see places. I also will want to have written my eighth book about The Unbroken Path, that hero’s journey that runs through all of our traditions which calls us to connect with the greater energy of Creation.

In ten years, I want to develop the technology to incorporate ABC Squared Economics into everyday transactions. This would allow Life Artists to generate Business, participate more democratically as Citizens, and invest in their own Communities. Basically, it’s a way to channel financial, crypto, and other digital curriencies to allow for a stronger, less wasteful flow while truly empowering the people. The Artist-Business-Citizen-Community model is based on the notion of cultivating a system that would promote emotional-mental-physical-spiritual health by engaging people in more conscious and equitable means of economic development.

It’s taken me over fifty years to figure out what exactly it is I’m here to do, but this is what I’ve come up with. Of course, this is all subject to change at a moment’s notice, and I do reserve the right to just sit in the park with my typewriter and “pay what you want poetry” sign.
