This is one of the first songs I ever learned to play. The chord progressions are very simple, and it allows for a lot of flexibility in tempo and tone. I find that I can play it as a ballad or as more of a pop song.
I haven’t been inspired to learn many Eric Clapton songs because I do not have the guitar prowess to back it up, but this one allows for a beautiful message regardless of my playing ability. And who doesn’t like to be told that they’re wonderful?
This is the poem I use to introduce the song. My version of the song is below.
Fellas, we have something to discuss.
It’s about the women you love.
It’s really important you appreciate them
and make them feel like they’re sent from above.
For all they do for you
to make sure that you’re cared for,
you need to know that they need to know
that their loved and that they are adored.
So if you want to live in harmony,
if you want your life to be colorful,
be sure to tell them how amazing they are.
Be sure to tell them they’re wonderful.
Here’s my version of the song.
