This is one of the first songs I ever learned to play. The chord progressions are very simple, and it allows for a lot of flexibility in tempo and tone. I find that I can play it as a ballad or as more of a pop song.
I haven’t been inspired to learn many Eric Clapton songs because I do not have the guitar prowess to back it up, but this one allows for a beautiful message regardless of my playing ability. And who doesn’t like to be told that they’re wonderful?
