“Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” – William James
With as hyperactive and automated as our world has become, it’s sometimes easy to think that we don’t make a difference. But the reality is that all of that hyperactivity and automation came from human activity in the first place. As a matter of fact, every human pattern, tradition, habit, and other social norm was also started by human activity.
Instead of thinking that our activity doesn’t make a difference, we should start looking for differences we can actually make. Just because human civilization exists does not necessarily mean that it is running optimally. Perhaps there are things we could do today that will make things better for human generations.
There are certainly things you could do today that could make a difference for people you know in your life. If nothing else, the things you do today will affect your tomorrow so send some good vibes to the person you want to be. What sort of differences can you make today?
