Although many have felt the challenges that this year has met us with, I am somehow finding comfort in the knowledge that this is a step in our evolution. After all, the only constant in life is change, and change consists of both the destruction of the old and the creation of the new. As difficult and sometimes painful as it can feel, we are a part of the change we want to see in the world.
Some philosophize that we are always in a state of becoming and will never actually be what we are trying to become. That often seems true on an individual level, and it could possibly be true on a societal level as well. I suppose, because there are so many changes I want to see in the way that my society operates, I am finding solace in the fact that the growing pangs we are feeling are opening up opportunities for us to become what we truly want to be.
In the nearly half-century I have been on this planet, I have found that life is a never-ending series of stuff that happens. I’m happy to merely find my flow in the thick of it and enjoy the ride.
