Breaking a Record with Broken

Breaking a Record with Broken

I almost broke a world record today. At the end of my new song Broken, there is the opportunity for a long, sustained note. The longest sustained note on record, according to Guinness, is 2 minutes and .07 seconds. I sustained mine for 21 seconds.

While my attempt may seem insignificant, and for me to say that I almost broke the record may be comical, I did come closer to beating the record today then yesterday, when I did not try at all. i may have to start trying to beat the record every time I play the song. How long can you hold a single sustained note?

By the way, my next scheduled performance is on Leap Day, February 29, 2020 at Tamiami Tap. I’m calling it the Leap Day Hootenanny, and I’m learning a bunch of songs to dance to so be sure to bring your dancing shoes. I also have John Hoover from Wandering Hours bringing his mandolin to become an honorary member of the Wandering Soul band for the evening. It’s going to be a LOT of fun, so be sure to put it on your calendar.
