I’ve recently signed up for a collaborative creative platform called Hitrecord. I was just invited to contribute to a project by contributing a short poem based on the theme “You Are Loved”. This is what I wrote.
You are loved
more than you know
though we’re programmed to keep our feelings to ourselves
a lot of people have had incredible feelings caused by your presence
the way that you contributed to life
the manner in which you behaved
because you brought comfort
through your very existence
and you were there
when you were needed
giving of yourself
merely by being yourself
though you may be unaware
more than you know
you are loved
