When I was a kid, there was a series of nine small plaques connected by a piece of felt ribbon that hung on a post at the foot of the stairs. Whenever I would bound down the stairs and swing around the post to ask what Mom was cooking for dinner, I would get a glance at these plaques, which somehow gave me more sustenance than whatever else she fed me. They read love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, kindness and self-control.
When building a home, there are certain things which are standard – walls, a roof, flooring, appliances, furniture, etc. When building a happy home, these principles are the building blocks upon which a good foundation is laid. As you continue to build your home, make sure to implement them.
